- The British countered by burning Boer farms and imprisoning women and children in disease-ridden concentration camps.

- We are happy to announce that South Africa is successfully conquered  and the colony is also called the Cape Province!!!
- Many black South Africans were captured by the British and placed in concentration camps, where over 14,000 died.
- Britain finally won the war. In 1910, the Boer republicswere joined into a self-governing Union of South Africa, which was controlled by the British.
- Cape Colony was a British colony established in 1806 in what is now South Africa. With the formation of the Union of South Africa (1910), the colony became the province of the Cape of Good Hope (also called Cape Province).
