Storyboard Text

  • Our labellums can be anywhere between 5-13 mm tall, our sepal length is between 5-7 mm tall, and our total height overall is between 14-100 cm tall. I already talked about our labellums colors, although our actual flowers can be pink, purple, and white.
  • Fascinating! How would you describe your species' height and color?
  • My species can be found all across central and eastern Canada and the United States. We normally like to live in disturbed, terrestrial habitats like swampy forests, marshes, moist meadows, and along riverbanks and roadsides. My species is chlorophyllous, meaning we contain chlorophyll that we use for photosynthesis which is what allows use to grow overall.
  • Interesting, where and how does your species grow?
  • This is some great information. Can you tell me about the pollination of your species?
  • Of course! My species is pollinated by moths and butterflies. Some of our known pollinators include Autographa ampla, Epargyreus clarus, Hemaris diffinis, Hemaris thysbe, Papilio glaucus, Papilio polyxenes, Papilio troilus and Polites mystic
