- It was a typical afternoon for Renee, she would take the school bus home from school to her apartment complex, Greenwood. She absolutely hated it and thought they were nothing more than shabby, old, brown buildings.
- Gross, this place is so ugly, I can't wait to move
- Ughh those mailboxes are so rusty
- Renee's mother was usually at work during this time of the day so she would have to let herself in
- They're apartment wasn't the prettiest and didn't have the most furniture, other than a red futon, flatscreen table on a folding table, and standing lamp in the corner. But it was home and she was glad to be there.
- Home sweet home. Now lets watch some avatar
- After scrolling through channels she found Avatar playing which was one of her favorite shows and luckily for her, they were showing a marathon for the rest of the evening. She was ready to get lost into their world.
- ARGHHH! I forgot I had stupid homework
- But just then, she remembered that she had homework to do
- She was immensely uneager to do her homework but knew she would have to eventually. She grabbed her composition notebook from her backpack
- Let me just get this over with, Mommy won't know the difference when she check it over
- Renee didn't put much effort into her vocabulary homework at all. She knew she could have done better at her level. She scribbled anything that came to her head in hopes to finish as quickly as possible. She wrote sloppy and easy sentences.

- All done! Now back to my show
- But she didn't care, she just wanted to watch her show and she was actually fairly pleased with the work she had done
- Eventually her eyes started to feel heavy. Her vision increasingly became hazy and her body fell limp as she slowly drifted into sleep
- *Jingle*
- Suddenly Renee heard the jingle of keys at the door
- Her heart raced as she saw the sight of her mother at the door coming home from work
- Hi my darling daughter, i'm home!
- Hey mommy! How was work?
- Oh busy as usual, but did you finish your homework? Come let me check it over
- Cast
- Renee's mother was in complete disapproval of her sloppy mess of a homework
- No Renee you need to fix this mess!
- But Mommy it's fine!
- No, you don't want your teacher to see this. You need to show her you can do better. This is purse laziness.
- Renee was frustrated and didn't want to redo the assignment, but of course she had to listen
- Renee erased the previous mess she had written before and attempted her sentences again. This time putting in more effort and writing neater and better articulated sentences.
- The quick brown fox jumped over the fence.
- Yellow bees make honey.
- Cats don't like cold water.
- The dog crossed the river.
- Her mother continued to lecture her from their tiny not so far away kitchen
- You want to show the teacher what you're truly capable of. You can't be taking shortcuts. If you practice good habits now it will follow you in the future. Just take your time and do the work properly.
- Now this is some of my best work yet. Mommy i'm done!
- Hmmm let's see now
- Renee learned a big lesson today. Not to be lazy but put effort into everything she does so that success follows her in the future.
