- Hey Johnny, these prices are dropping crazy for all the wheat I am growing!
- Yeah man, Railroads charge us for lots of money for shipping and storing our crops too.
- I know! I am too tired of losing money instead of making it!!
- Well, we should do something... But WHAT?
- Hmm.. Yes! I know we aren't the only ones who feel this way so let's gather some more people who feel this way and form a group!
- Yes, that's a great idea! That way, we can make our voices heard! Let's go right now to find some farmers.
- Hey guys! We came here to ask you if you would like to join our group called the Populist Party to help us farmers gain more power and more control!
- Yes!! WE NEED THE AUTHORITY AND MONEY WE DESERVE!

- In 1877, the Populist Party asked states to prevent railroad and storage companies from charging such high prices and the Supreme Court agreed with the farmers. Which now meant more money for the farmers and more freedom!
