- After scaring himself nearly to death, the prisoner slowly makes his way back to where he feels safer, the walls. " Shaking in every limb, I groped my way back to the wall"

- "Everytime I eat this food I feel more and more thirsty" After walking around so much, the prisoner is too exhausted and passes out again without touching his food, only the water.

- After coming to his senses, he finds out that his left arm is free, but that is all that he can move. Another thing he finds is meat on the ground near him.

- Some disgusting rats have made their presence known. They are viciously eating the meat that was on the ground.

- The Prisoner has discovered a strange object on the ceiling. Hopefully it doesn't get closer because it looks a bit sharp.

- The pendulum is slowly getting closer, the prisoner is frantically thinking of any way to escape.

- The prisoner managed to get the meat up and onto himsel/ "They clung to the wood—they overran it, and leaped in hundreds upon my person."

- "I slid from the embrace of the bandage and beyond the reach of the scimitar. For the moment, at least, I was free."

- Shockingly, the pendulum ceases its advance, and the walls begin closing in. Not only that but the temperature of the room is rising absurdly fast.

- The walls are getting closer and closer, its beginning to look like the end for the prisoner.

- " An outstretched arm caught my own as I fell, fainting, into the abyss. It was that of General Lasalle. The French army had entered Toledo. The Inquisition was in the hands of its enemies."
