- One morning Blaire told her mother Mrs. Claire that she was feeling aching muscles or muscle cramps, frequent pain in her back and the fatigue she often felt. She cried because she was afraid of the illness she was experiencing and Mrs. Claire was worried. she calmed Blaire first.
- After Blaire settled into tears Mrs. Claire explained that she may be experiencing Vitamin D Deficiency or when the body doesn't get enough vitamin D from sunlight. She also explain that Vitamin D is sometimes called the sunshine vitamin because your body makes it from cholesterol when your skin is exposed to sunlight. She also added how important sunlight is to our body.
- To further emphasize the importance of sunlight, Mrs. Claire had her daughter Blaire outside their house. She explained that light from the sun uses a variety of electromagnetic waves, one of the things she told her daughter was the effects of sunlight on living things including humans and the animals. Blaire’s mother also said that even babies like her sister really need sunlight in the morning.
- After explaining to her daughter the effect of sunlight, she also said that the sun also helps their clothes dry quickly, after a long conversation she told Blaire to play in the yard with their pets to that they can get enough Vitamin D that their body needs. When Blaire got tired of playing, she went inside their house.
- Blaire went to her mother in the kitchen and thanked her for the information she taught, she said she learned a lot from what her mother explained and her mother asked her if she wanted to learn more and Blaire immediately answered yes, so her mother immediately led her to the garden.
- When they were in the garden her mother explained that sunlight is also very important to plants and trees and it is one of the necessities for them to survive, Blaire was amazed and asked what could have happened without sun and sunlight, her mother explained that the whole environment or surroundings will be darkened when it is gone. Mrs. Claire continued to explain the effects of sunlight on living things and the environment and Blaire enjoyed listening.
