  • First its way too early for this but anyways we're going to learn about American Isolationism. American Isolationism is when America decided to isolate themselves because we basically said to other states "Its not our problem. Figure it out"

  • Okay, so were in our virtual portal field trip thing and were in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War. The Spanish Civil War was dragged on for 3 years because army leaders favored a fascist-style government and joined General Francisco Franco in a revolt.
  • Hitler and Mussolini sent troops, airplanes and tanks to help Franco's forces which were called nationalists. In early 1939, republican resistance collapsed. Franco became Spain's fascist dictator. like Hitler and Mussolini, Franco also established a totalitarian regime.
  • Okay so the Invasion of Poland was basically what started WW2. Hitler invaded Poland but he staged a fake attack just so he could invade them again. why? I have no idea. Maybe because it was Hitler. Hitler signed a treaty saying that Germany, France and Italy were all together in the war. The Nazis take over Poland and other states as well.
  • Hitler began a sweep through the Netherlands , Belgium, and Luxembourg in May of 1940. this was part of his strategy to keep France at strike. Hitler sent even larger troops and more airplanes and tanks. they moved across France and reached the country's northern coast in 10 days.
  • After Dunkirk resistance in France began to crumble. By June 14 the Germans had taken Paris. French leaders surrendered on June 22, 1940.the Germans took control of the Northern part of the country. After France fell, Charles de Gualle, a french general , set up a government-in-exile London. He committed all his energy to reconquering France.
  • The Battle of Great Britain was a crucial battle in World War II. Germany thought to attack the United Kingdom, but first they needed to eliminate the Royal Air Force. The Battle of Britain occurred when Germany bombed the United Kingdom in an attempt to eliminate their air force and prepare for invasion.
  • Hitler had a plan to invade the Soviet Union called Operation Barbarossa. Hitler attacked the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941 early in the morning. The Soviet Union was not prepared at all for this attack. For some reason they had the largest army but had no equipment nor were trained. On September 8 German forces put Leningrad under siege. By early November the city was completely cut off from the rest of the Soviet Union.
