- In this picture Rifka's dad is trying to tell her that she needs to distract the guards so her dad (who if gets caught by guards could go to jail) and her family could go and escape russia and start heading there way to america
- In this picture rifka is at a doctors office in belgium getting checked out like normal because she can't go to america to see her family until her ringworms are gone.
- In this picture rifka is sitting in ellis island trying to convince a 7 year old boy that he deserves to live and have a good life with a good family in america. this shows that Rifka cares about other people even if she has only knew them for a little bit.
