- Probably wants to tax us some more!
- The king is calling us for an estate general,
- We have a lot of debt. We have a spending deficit! I must raise taxes.
- I don't care, Im a priest. I don't pay taxes.
- We in the third estate want to change how voting works!
- The king called a meeting to discuss the financial issues of France. All 3 estates were invited and made up the Estate General. They needed to solve the deficit spending issue and the food shortage.
- They needed to agree om the voting structure. Normally the first and second estates get one vote each. The third estate wanted to change this since they pay the most taxes and the first 2 estates would overrule anything they wanted.
