- This the part when Jeffery and Thaddeus first meet. Thaddeus had cancer to, so he knows what it's like to go through cancer. Jeffery and Thaddeus became good friends and now Jeffery calls Thaddeus Tad.

- This part is when Tad thinks that his parents replaced him with another child incase that he did die from the cancer. He feels like he is abandoned and left out because he feels like his parents had no hope that he would live.
- My parents replaced me with another child
- On pages 187-188 Jeffery rings the doorbell and finds out that Tad is asleep. But finds out that Tad has cancer again. Now Jeffery is angry because Tad has cancer but also that Tad told Lindsey before Tad told Jeffery and found out 4 weeks after Tad had cancer.
