- Hello, ma'am! If you found a talking goldfish that granted you three wishes, what would you wish for?
- I am not interested!
- Hello, sir! If you found a talking goldfish that granted you three wishes, what would you wish for?
- Oh my gosh, a goldfish! The magic wish!
- STOP! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! DON'T TOUCH MY GOLDFISH!
- The story takes place in Jaffa, Israel. Yoni, a young man in desperate need of money, would knock on doors and ask people this one specific question. "If you found a talking goldfish that granted you three wishes, what would you wish for?". He would record people's responses and upload them to local TV companies.
- Sergei, you killed the boy.
- Oh my god! I thought he was trying to take you!
- One day, Yoni happened to come across an old man named Sergei Goralick. Sergei wanted a peaceful life. Yoni knocking at his door displeased him. As soon as Yoni asked the old man what he wished for, Sergei tried shooing him away and told him that he wasn't interested.
- Sergei. I am a magical goldfish. If you use your last wish, we can bring Yoni back to life.
- But, you're my friend... I was saving my last wish for something very special.
- Yoni shoves his way through the door. As soon as he walks into Sergei's house, he immediately sees the goldfish and starts excitedly reaching for the jar. Sergei doesn't like this and misinterprets this as Yoni trying to steal his goldfish.
- I would wish for... Peace.
- If you found a talking goldfish that granted you three wishes, what would you wish for?
- Scared that Yoni might try to take the goldfish, Sergei hits him on the head with a hot pan. Yoni collapses to the floor and starts bleeding. He's dead. "You killed the boy," the magical goldfish says.
- The goldfish, to our surprise, was actually a magical goldfish that is able to grant you three wishes. The goldfish immediately suggests that Sergei should use his last wish to bring Yoni back to life. Sergei is hesitant. He doesn't want to go to jail for murder, but he also doesn't want to lose his one friend.. The goldfish.
- Sergei had decided to use his last wish to bring Yoni back to life. Yoni continued to ask the same questions and make documentaries by knocking on people's doors. Sergei ended up being alone.
