- The Hunger Games takes place in a future dystopian society called Panem, located in North America. The main characters are Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen. It is told in first person point of view of Katniss.
- Climax
- Katniss's sister, Prim, gets picked to fight in the hunger games, but Katniss takes her place and promises that she will win. The type of is conflict character vs. society.
- Falling Action
- Katniss goes to the Capitol, she and Peeta, her fellow district 12 tribute, make an impression at the Capitol. She trains for the Hunger Games and then its time for them to begin.
- Resolution
- The Hunger Games start and Katniss doesn't follow Haymitch's , her mentor, tip to run from the cornucopia. She grabbed a backpack and runs into the woods. Someone almost hit Katniss with a knife but she dodged. Katniss camps out in a tree and when there are six people left it catches on fire, due to the Gamemakers. It is announced that tributes from the same District can team up.
- "Adrenaline shoots through me and I sling the pack over one shoulder and run full-speed for the woods." pg 151
- "Blood Poisoning. Unchecked it will kill him for sure." pg 265
- Katniss searches for Peeta, and finds him injured and sick, camouflaged under a ton of mud. She needs to get medicine because he has blood poisoning from a wound he got from Cato, a tribute from another district.
- When there was 3 people left, Cato, Katniss, and Peeta, Katniss and Peeta find Cato running away from a pack of wolves. They all flee toward the cornucopia and climb up it. On it, they fend off the wolves, then Cato attacks Peeta and Katniss. They knock Cato off and the wolves kill him. Katniss and Peeta won so they head back the the capitol.
