In the beginning, Marty is eating dead rabbit with his family, and he later goes out in the woods to shoot his .22 Rifle. There he sees a dog, and the dog follows him whereever Marty goes.
Climax
Marty ends up liking the dog and he named him Shiloh. However, he later figures out Shiloh belongs to a mean man named Judd Travers, who abuses his dogs.
Falling Action
Marty tries to keep Shiloh a secret from his parents about Shiloh because he wants to protect Shiloh from Judd, but his parents won't let him keep a dog because they can't pay for the dog, so Marty hides Shiloh in a pen.
Resolution
While sleeping in the pen, Shiloh was attacked by Baker's dog. Marty later found out about the attack and had to tell his dad about Shiloh.
After Shiloh gets treatment, Marty takes responsibilty for Shiloh and decides to make a deal with Judd. If Marty worked for Judd for 20 hours, he'd get Shiloh.
After working for Judd for 20 hours, Marty finally gets the privellage of owning Shiloh. Judd rewards Marty for his work with Shiloh's new collar
