Storyboard Text

  • I wish my trip to school was safer, I have to walk through a very dangerous route just to get here to this school that has a low fund, less materials, and a poor level of education.
  • Me too, the White kids would never be treated like this.
  • The all Black schools do not get the same treatment as the all white schools. The 14th amendment offers equal protection meaning you cannot treat people differently because of their race, and the segregated schools violate this. Segregation reduces a Black students chance at a good education. Segregation is morally wrong.
  • The 14th amendment means treating people equal, not the same. The schools for Black and White students have similar facilities. Schooling has become independent.
  • The vote is unanimous, but the Court has ruled in the Browns favor. We have acknowledged that public education is not only necessary to prepare children for the future but it is also a principal instrument in awakening the child to cultural values. It is unlikely that a child will succeed if they do not have a proper education. Also, desegregation will be happening everywhere, not just schools.
