- Katniss woke up to prim sleeping with her mom. She then goes hunting in the forest to hunt with gale, who suggests that they run away together so they won't be in the hunger games but she declines and they go home
- Since it, the day of the reaping they go to dress up nicely since it's mandatory to wear nice attire. She gets ready and wears a blue dress that was once her mother's and which is sedimental to her. They all go to the reaping and are squished into the town square.
- They're organized into ages and effie trinket comes up to andy say her very famous line. They play the anthem and the mayor gives a speech. Effie trinket then pulls out the names of the girl and boy tribute, and the girl tribute is primrose everdeen.
- Katniss and Peeta went to the river to refill their bottles and wait for cato to come so they can end the games. It's been hours and he's still hasn't come and then they hear something running in their direction. It's Cato running from what seems to be a mutation wolf.When Katniss sees Cato she shoots at him but it doesn't go through. Then she sees the mutation and she begins to run towards cornucopia.
- That's when she realizes she forgot Peeta, shes turns around and sees him limping to the cornucopia, but he tells her to run. she climbs on the cornucopia and Peeta barely makes it onto the cornucopia where it very hot. there safe until the mutations start to jump onto the cornucopia where Katniss starts to shoot at them. Peeta gets hurt in his leg and he's now bleeding to death.
- Cato got ahold of Peeta, and Katniss was about to shoot him when he suddenly started to say that if he dies Peeta will die too. Cato was suffocating him so he was gonna die regardless. Peeta pointed at his hand and katniss knew what to do right before Cato did and she shot him and fell to the ground where the wolves started to eat on him. It was taking a while thanks to his armor and so katniss killed him with one of her arrows
