- Hello class! Today we will be learning about the different types of government.
- Monarchy: A form of government where a king or queen is the ruler. A rare form of government that mainly existed in the past. The right to rule is usually inherited
- Autocracy: a form of government where a single person holds all the power. No one else gets a say in the rules, but only follows them. This is also known as a dictatorship.
- Theocracy: a form of government where they follow a certain religion and the leaders are believed to be divinely guided. The government follows a certain god or religion.
- Democracy: a form of government where the main power is in the people, and the people choose the leaders
- Oligarchy: a form of government where a small group of people hold all the power. No one else really has a say in this form of government.
