- When i went to Doctor's Commons, i came to know that miss stoner's mother had , in her will, stated that each of the sisters is to be given a certain amount of money at their respective weddings and the rest to Dr,Roylott, as their mother had less money, if either of them got married, Dr.Roylott would have a small sum of money left with him, and to prevent them from getting married he used his strange obsession with indian animals. as a weapon, This is why we found a small saucer of milk under his bed, he used to train the snake with it. He tried to kill Julia when she was getting married, and now, Helen
- His plan was quite complex, Julia's room was attached to his, and there was a small hole on top, where there was a rope and a hook, the low clear whistle was the swamp adder and as the bed was attached to the window, the snake would land on the bed and bite the person sleeping on it (i.e. Julia and then Helen)this would create the impression that it was an accident.
- The reason he died, was that when the snake was approaching the room, i took out my whip and hit it with it, this must have aroused its snakish temper, and must've bitten, the first person he saw, dr,roylott who was on the other side of the hole. I admit that i am in a way responsible for Dr.Roylott's death but i am likely to say that it would not weigh heavily on my conscience
