Inertia- Things want to keep doing what they are already doing.
¨Things want to stay in the position they are¨
Acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied
The couch was an example on inertia, it stayed stable even with force applied. In order to move the stone it needed a lot of force but it moved a little. Inertia states that no object in the universe would move unless some external force is put on it.
Force mass x Acceleration
In outer space there is no air or roughness, and no gravity so when you kick the stone it will keep moving and would never stop. In order for the stone to stop there will need to be force and gravity.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
For an object to accelerate or speed up a force must be applied. The more force applied the quicker you accelerate.
Newton´s third law
When the same force is applied, whichever has more mass would move slower than the other. In order to get more acceleration, more force would have to be applied
When she drops the tennis ball on the floor it is going to be a downward force which is an action, the floor is going to have a reaction by it pushing the ball back up in the same force. The floor and the ball form a action reaction pair.
When you push the pedals the tires of the bike which touch the ground push it backwards, the ground pushes it forwards using the same force. So they also use the action reaction pair.
