  • The League of Nations was established to help keep peace in the world after the World War.
  • May 24, 1924
  • Prohibition was passed and made alcohol illegal angering many men who wanted to drink after work.
  • November 4, 1924
  • The 19th Amendment was ratified on August 18, 1920. This ended years of protest and finally gave women the right to vote.
  • October 24, 1929
  • The Immigration Act was passed limiting the number of immigrants allowed into the U.S. Only 2% of immigrants were allowed into the United States.
  • On November 4, 1924, Calvin Coolridge was elected president.
  • At the end of the roaring '20s the stock market crashed causing the start of the great depression. The Great Depression caused many people to lose their homes.
