  • The Gilded age is a period of surface economic strength, wrought with rapid economic decay, social and economic inequality, and cyniscism towards the fellow man.
  • Wealth was hoarded by the wealthy industrialists, who let the regular people work in dangerous conditions to make money, a practice still seen today.
  • Immigration was common during this period, with most migrants arriving from Southern and Eastern Europe as well as China.
  • During this time, Multiple anti-capitalist, often socialist movements rose during this time. This was in opposition to the wealthy industrialists.
  • Industrialist Stealing our money!
  • Whistleblowers, also known as Muckrakers, were often members of such groups. They would expose crimes comitted by the wealthy industrialists.
