- The American Constitution is a very special document for the U.S.A.
- It was written in 1787 and it was the plan for how the gouvernment would run and everyone would know how it would operate
- The Constitution is the highest law in the land. Any other law has to follow,support and respecti it.
- The gouverment leaders are called to follow and make sure no laws go againest the Constitution.
- The Constitution starts with "we the people" because the united states gouvernment exists foer the people by the people..Also thr colonists fought for indipendence from Great Britain to get liberty and freedom for the people. (and it also protect them)
- The Constitution is made of 7 articles and 27 amendements. The articles focus on how the united states' gouvernment works and the amendments talk about the rights of people and some clarifications about how the gouverment works.
- The first 10 amendements are know as "the Bill of rights" and they protect thr most basic freedoms of every amercan citizien . For example the freedom of speech , freedom of religion and freedom of assembly.
- Some amendments took along time but finally got added in the Constitution like the outlawed slavery . the right to vote for african americans and th e right to vote for women.
