  • Buddhism Is a religion that started in India Around the 5th century
  • Siddhartha was the founder of Buddhism and became known as The Buddha Gautama, lived a wealthy life, as a prince. He was moved because he saw people suffer. years later he found the cure to suffering. Siddhartha Gautama died around 487 B.C and his followers began to form a religious movement
  • In the 3rd Century, The Indian Emperor Ashoka the great made Buddhism the state religion of India. Also Hinduism is a religion, it also started in India. Missionary work was encouraged.
  • Buddha tells other people about Buddhism and it spreads around through Merchants, along the Silk Road. It also spread by the temples, monk/ nuns, and the Missionaries
  • Buddhism Spread along China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, And through the Gupta Empire.
  • One of buddhism's Beliefs are " Buddha’s most important teachings, known as The Four Noble Truths, are essential to understanding the religion
