- Juan had finally just completed his classes with straight A's, and was excited!
- Great Job on working very well on this class Juan! You have passed and can finally graduate!
- Great! Im finally able to graduate now!
- On graduation day, Juan was excited and was proud of himself. He was so proud, he decided to wear the colors of his ethnic country, which is Mexico, to honor his race and ethnicity.
- I finally did it, I am officially the first to graduate out of my family, I am so proud...

- I will not reward you your diploma, its unacceptable to wear those kinds of colors!!!
- I will not give you your diploma, this political statement is not allowed.
- As soon as Juan goes up to the stage and receive his diploma, he hits a strange out of the nowhere bump...

- The argument only grew, and sooner than later, many other students became furious, to the point where police had to escort Juan and other students.

- Luckily, someone had recorded the incident on graduation day, and it went viral on social media, bringing the issue into light and creating a change, a change big enough for Juan to finally receive his diploma.

- This story is an allegory representation of a young man named Ever Lopez. He was prepared to walk on stage and become the first on his family to graduate from his North Carolina High School... Until he was denied his diploma for simply wearing a mexican flag over his shoulders.
- López's cousin, Adolfo Hurtado, captured moments of the ceremony on June 3 of 2021, which went across social media, causing the situation to be noticed and for change to happen. He later then received his diploma he deserves.
