Aubrey is watching the fireworks on forth of July. She notices that when the firework shoots up it leaves a trail in the sky and then when it falls down it does the same. Aubrey says to her friend that it looks like a parabola. She knows that each firework shoots up 100 meters and estimates it falls 30 meters from the take off site.

Aubrey decides to figure out the parabola by using the formula y=a(x-p)^2 +q.
Aubrey used her calculator to figure out that a= 100/225 or simplified it would be 4/9. Now she can see that parabolas are used in real life and can enjoy the rest of the fireworks
