  • The earths axis is the reason we have seasons! The sun hits different parts of the earth at different times which affects how cold or hot the place gets.
  • The earth is tilted at a 23.5 angle which allows the part that is getting the sunlight to cover all of the space and make longer days and shorter night while the part that gets less sun has shorter days and longer night
  • We have landed in the beautiful land of NZ where I am going to explain how seasons occur by the tilt of the earth and the amount of light from the sun.
  • As you know there are 4 seasons summer, spring, fall, winter, they all fall at specific times of the year. The seasons depend on the tilt of the earth and the amount of sunlight hits a certain part of earth
  • it takes 23 hours 56 minutes and 4.091 seconds for the earth to spin once around its axis, and 365 days to orbit around the sun
  • During those 365 days different parts of the earth are getting different amounts on sunlight every month which in fact causes seasons
  • for example from June to August here in New Zealand winter is happening where in America its summer because the earth is tilted on its axis so that america gets more sunlight and new zealand gets less
  • AND THATS HOW SEASONS WORK!!!!Thanks for tuning in : )
