  • Hello! I'm ocean man and today I will be showing you the ocean.
  • What a generous offer! Let's go check the boat out.
  • Hey, you. Want to come check the boat out?
  • In reality, the fishing done by these boats is harming the ocean and not sustainable.
  • Looks like this boat is preparing to set sail and fish.
  • Lets dive in and see the impact on the ocean.
  • Look at how barren and destroyed the ocean is. There is barely any fish and no coral
  • Furthermore, these fishing methods pick up a lot of fish and even pick up unwanted fish.
  • Fishing with these massive nets pick up coral off the sea floor destroying the ocean environment.
  • This is slowly reducing fish populations around the world and even making some extinct!
  • Now you see fishing is a massive environmental problem, but don't lose hope! There are still ways we can make fishing environmentally friendly.
  • Wow! That would definitely help with overfishing and it would allow fish to repopulate making sure we don't cause fish species to go extinct.
  • Absolutely! All we need to do is make sure we enforce these limitations to make sure they are being followed.
  • That's right! We, the government, can regulate fishing and enforce limits on how much people can fish.
  • Did you know you at home can also help with this problem
  • That's right! Doing so decreases the demand for fish meaning fishermen don't have to catch as many fish to keep up.
  • This also helps diversify a country's economy allowing the country to expand in different areas.
  • Yes! We can lessen the amount of fish in our diets.
  • However, there is some bad news. We need to start implementing these solutions now before it's too late.
  • We are at an important moment in history. Now is the time to act!
  • Science says seafood could be gone by 2048 due to overfishing and our lack of care for the oceans.
