- Battle of fort sumter, April 12, 1861
- This battle is really important because its the start of the war
- The battle of bull run, July 21, 1861
- This is going to be an easy win for the union, then we can end the war, so lets go watch the battle!
- This battle is important because it showed all the northerners who thought the war would be over quick that it was going to be a long hard war
- The battle of Gettysburg  July 1-3, 1863
- Battle of Shiloh April 6, 1862
- This battle had 24,000 casualties between the north and south, and it was the most bloody battle in american history
- The battle of Antietam, September 16-18, 1862
- This battle is the deadliest one day battle of the whole war and gave Lincoln the confidence to release the emancipation proclamation 
- The battle of Vicksburg may 18, 1863
- This battle was very important because it  gave the union control over the Mississippi river
- This was the turning point of the war, and had the most casualties out of any battle in thr whole war with 51,000 and there was bodies everywhere
