  • Secretary general of NUMSA in a meeting with workers.
  • Good day gentlemen, how may we assist you.
  • We need an increase on our salaries. we don't want that 4.4% we want 10% increase on our salaries.
  • Good day thank you for meeting with us , we have salary matters to discuss.
  • The workers are addressing their complaints.
  • We told the employer that we need an increase
  • They told us that they can only offer us 4.4%. we rejected that offer because we haven't had an increase for two years now its only fair that they give us the 10%
  • So we want to strike now
  • The Secretary is advising the worker on measure they will take.
  • We as NUMSA we are disappointed that the company refuses to increase your salaries. it is unfair that in 2020 your salaries couldn't be increased because of the covid-19. We will be having a meeting as NUMSA committee on what will be a way forward. We will be coming to your workplace tomorrow with solution and meet with the rest of the employees.
  • The way forward is to meet with the employers and tell them on the percentage increase
  • Every worker has a right to form or join a trade union and participate in the union's activities.
  • The officials of NUMSA and with the Secretary of NUMSA are having a meeting on the way forward.
  • I had a meeting with the workers as they had to address their complaints with wage increase
  • The employers should know that should they not agree with the 10% we will negotiate to 8% but less than that we will not agree.
  • The Labour Relations Act (66 of 1995) clearly states that workers have a right to choose or join their own trade union. Report any unfair labour practices in the workplace.

  • The trade union along with the employees have a right to partake in a legal strike.
  • They don't want to give us 10% increase but they want us to work for them. We are struggling we demand an increase.
