The lottery

- We open looking at the town skyline. This is The Lottery, by Shirley Jackson.
- Everyone is gathering in the town square at the gazebo. Mr. Summers is bringing the black box out for everyone to draw for the lottery.
- What a beautiful June day to have a lottery!
- Everyone was already gathered there. But one person, Tessie Hutchinson, was late!
- So sorry I'm late!!
- Mr. Summers starts to bring people up to draw from the box.
- Please don't pick the one!
- Then, they all figured out that Mr. Hutchinson picked the paper with the black dot on it!
- Then, they put 5 papers back into the box, including Bills. And then made everyone, Including the children, choose a paper.
- This isn't fair! He didn't get enough time to pic the paper he wanted! You rushed him!
- Tessie Hutchinson ended up to be the one that got the paper with the dot! So the village gethered around her and threw their stones...
