- Ive heard rumors that your a communist
- Ive heard even more rumors that your a communist
- After WW1 Veterans were striking to get higher pay. Over 3,300 people were striking for higher pay and that did a lot of damage to the economy. People were not happy that they had to come home and get paid enough money to support their family's.
- The US Government is locking me up for expressing My First Amendment, Something is clearly wrong here!
- Rumors were spreading doorstep to doorstep about communism. People were scared to be accused of it and people didn't want it in their country's. This made people on edge and started accusing each other.
- Tell it to the judge communist scum.
- We were just expressing our first amendment
- Bombs went off in 8 cities including Mitchell Palmer’s home in Washington DC. The communist were blamed for these attacks and 70,00 were taken in. This made the worry for communism increase dramatically.
- That´s only something a communist would say.

- By sending out letters to people who were drafted for the war to not show up, Charles Schenck was arrested and he claims he was expressing his first amendment. He was sent to jail for 6 months and He made the claim that there is a ¨clear and present danger¨. By speaking out like this people realized what he said was true,
- Benjamin Gitlow & Alan Larkin, Both communist were plotting to overthrow the US Government. They found out in their newspaper and Arrested them for criminal anarchy. They claimed they were just expressing their fist amendment.
- The fear of communism took a long time to shake. People were on edge for a while and wanted to feel safe in their country. But the fear of communism never shook.
