- Exposition.
- Rising action.
- One day im going to kill you.
- Climax.
- The narrator is introduced. He wishes to prove his sanity to the readers despite having killing a man over his eyes.
- Falling action.
- We have got reports of scream.
- It was me who screamed.The old man is out of town.
- Over the next eight days the narrator plots to kill the old man.To get rid of the "Eye". Each night he enters the old mans room with a light to stalk him.
- Resolution.
- I confess Make it stop!
- Finally, one evening, the old man wakes up and screams.Then the narrator pulls the man off the bed and covers him with the mattress until he can no longer hear the old man breathing.
- Summoned by a Neighbour, the police arrived saying that someone reported hearing screams coming from the house.The narrator says that it was him who screamed.When the cops ask for the old man the narrator says that he is out of town.
- Where is the old man that lives here?
- The story comes to a end when the narrator believes he hears ticking sounds that grows louder and louder.He believes that its the sound of the old mans hearth and confesses to the police.
