Storyboard Text
Hi everyone , my name is Frank. I'm going to show you how to use good body mechanics at your workplace
When lifting boxes, you can hurt your back. You must use good body mechanics
First step: Come close to the object you want to lift. This prevents you from straining your back
DON'T USE YOUR BACK
Second Step: Bend at the knees when lifting the box from the ground.
By doing this, you are using your leg muscle to help take the weight of the box and not your back.
Your back will thank you for it!!Thanks Frank for using your legs
Third Step: hold the box up with your arms and lift with your legs straight up in a standing position.
Make sure the box is light enough for you to carry and that you can see where you are going
USE YOUR LEG MUSCLES
If the box is to heavy for you to lift by yourself. Get another person who can help you. I need help!!!
Hey Frank, It looks like that box is heavy. I'll help you lift it.
Having good body mechanics in the workplace can prevent you from injury.
