I WIN!
We are leaving!
Abraham Lincoln wins the 1860 presidential election.
Slavery is wrong!
No it's not!
After Lincoln was elected 7 Southern states seceded.
Free states and slave states fought back and forth about slavery in America.
On April 12, 1861 the Civil War had started. Troops wee fighting for and against slavery in America.
Over 2.75 million soldiers went on the battlefield to fight for what they thought was right.
2,000,000 soldiers fought for the North and 750,000 soldiers fought for the South.
STOP!
Over 360,200 people died from the North and 258,000 from the South.
Over 50,000 civilians died without fighting in the war.
More than half the soldiers ended up dying from diseases or infections after being wounded.
This war is over. I surrender.
One year later
