- I stole her things! Hahaha!

- I am very disappointed in you.
- Please don't tell Aba.
- Malala believes that Safina stole her favorite pink toy phone. This makes Malala sad and want to get revenge.
- Leaving the Valley
- Malala is angry at Safina, so she secretly pockets her things. She gets carried away and can’t stop stealing Safina’s things every time she goes to her house. It becomes a very bad habit.
- Chapter 15
- Eventually, Malala’s mother finds her secret stash of Safina’s things. This makes her very disappointed in Malala and causes Malala to have a change of heart. Malala never does a bad thing again after this.
- Page 176 - 185
- I wish for peace in my valley.
- Malala and her family are forced to leave their valley because of the Taliban. Many other people are leaving too, so there is a lot of traffic.
- There are so many people!
- Half-way through their journey, Malala and her family arrive at Islamabad. They see Internationally Displaced Persons in camps and the huge skyscrapers of the city.
- We made it to Islamabad!
- Finally, Malala and her family arrive at Haripur. No one remembers Malala’s birthday, so she celebrates her twelfth birthday alone without any cake, balloons, or presents. All she wishes for is peace in her valley.
