- Guinevere is sick and can't attend the joust. Lancelot told Aurthor he couldn't attend the joust. Lancelot tells Guinevere he will stay and take care of her. Guinevere thinks people will find it suspicious and tells Lancelot to go to the joust in disguise.

- Elaine falls in love with Lancelot at first sight and offers her red sleeve with pearls for him to wear when he jousts. She does this to help with Lancelots disguise.
