Macrophage encounters, eats a pathogen floating in the blood.
Macrophage displays pathogen's antigens. This display of antigens helps activate other immune cells.
Helper T cell links with antigen displayed from macrophages. The helper T cell activates a B cell.
The macrophage goes away and the B cell connects to the helper T cell.
The B cell separates into a plasma B cell and memory B cell. The plasma B cell tages a pathogen with an antibody, so the pathogen can't infect any cells.
Macrophage finds the pathogen and kills it. This is called the humoral response and happens in the blood.
