- Jonas and his family have perfect lives. There is no war, fear, choices. Every person in the community has a role. When people are twelves they have to go to a ceremony to find out their role.
- Jonas and his family go to the neutering center and look around and ¨adopt¨ a new child and name him Gabriel. This new child was different, him and Jonas had light colored eyes while most of the community didn't.
- Jonas is hitting puberty and his dad gives him a pill stop the the hormones. He has weird dreams that give him hormones. Jonas is required to take this pill everyday.
- Jonas is now a 12. He is officially considered a grown up now. He will have to go to the ceremony of twelve to see what role he will have in the community.
- Jonas is getting ready to leave for the ceremony. This will determine a huge part in his life.
- Jonas is at the ceremony of twelve. He gets selected as the receiver which is a huge role in the community. Everyone is surprised and happy for him.
