  • Hi, My name is Carbon Atom Trooper. Today i am going to explain the carbon cycle.
  • In the atmosphere there is carbon gas. That carbon gas is absorbed by plants in a process called photosynthesis. As this process happens, the chloroplast in the plant will take in sunlight, water, sugar, and carbon dioxide to make glucose and oxygen. Then humans and plants use respiration to take in oxygen, humans,or take in carbon dioxide, plants. So we can live.
  • After photosynthesis, animals take over. There are different types of animals. Some are producers, some are consumers, and some are decomposers. For example, a Fox is a consumer and a plant is a producer, The fox might eat the plant and get energy and food. Then when the animal goes poop or dies, it is decomposed by a decomposer. Like a mushroom. Then the carbon is now in the soil. And the cycle keeps on going!
  • After the animal dies, rip, may it rest in peace, the carbon moves into the soil. Eventually high pressure will turn the droppings and dead bodies into fossil fuels. This process take a LONG time though.
  • Some of the animals in the ocean die and sink to the bottom of the ocean. Then decomposers come and decompose the body of the fish, and the process of its body becoming fossil fuels starts at the bottom of the sea. This is why fossils of very old fish are deep underground. Because there was water there and then the fish died, then became fossil fuels underground.
  • Then humans harvest and gather the fossil fuels to make stuff and use it which requires us to use combustion. This lets us heat homes and have gas in our cars, but it is VERY BAD for our environment.
