Viola and the Captain arrive to a country called Illyria after a shipwreck. Viola thinks her twin brother did not survive the shipwreck but still has hopes that he might be alive as well. Since she's a woman, she thought that it was going to be problematic for her to survive , so she decides to dress up as a male and work for the governor of Illyria: Duke Orsino.
Act ll Scene l
If you will not undo what you have done, that is, kill him whom you have recovered, desire it not. My blossom is full of kindness; and I am yet so near the matters of my mother that upon the least occasion more mine eyes will tell tales of me. I am bound to the Count Orsino's court. farewell
Duke Orsino calls Cesario(Viola) and gives him/her the task of expressing to Olivia his feelings and passion towards her. He won't take the task himself because he thinks he's too old for that job. This will be difficult for Viola because she has feelings towards the Duke and will rather be his wife.
Act ll Scene lll
Cesario(Viola) to Olivia's room to do what Duke Orsino told her. Olivia did not accept Duke Orsino's love but realized that her true love was Cesario(Viola). She does not know that Cesario is actually a woman and such confusion might cause troubles in the storyline.
Act ll Scene V
She did commend my yellow stockings of late; she did praise my legs being cross-gartered; and in this she manifest herself to my love
Sebastian, Viola's twin brother, ends up in Illyria with the help of Antonio who saved him from the shipwreck. Sebastian, as well, is grieving for Viola whom he believes did not get through the shipwreck. He has a desire of visiting Orsino's court and goes ahead on the way to there. Antonio asl wants to go with him because he likes him even thought it will be dangerous for him .
The gentleness of all the gods go with thee! I have many enemies in Orsino's court; Else would I very shortly see thee there; But come what may, I adore thee so, That danger shall seem sport, I will go
Sir Toby and Sir Andrew with Feste and boisterously partying in Olivia's residence which forces Malvolio to scold them for their inappropriate behavior. After that, they decide to take revenge on Malvolio with the help of Maria and . They decide to write a fake letter from Olivia by Maria that he will accidentally find saying that Olivia is in love with him.

He shall think, by the letters that thou wilt drop, that they come from my niece, and that she's in love with him
Malvolio is daydreaming and life with him and Olivia married. He finds the fake letter that Maria wrote which talks about Olivia giving him the instructions for obtaining her love. This instructions use irony in a way that are totally the opposite of what Olivia will like and it showcases how easy is Malvolio to manipulate.
I will drop in his way some obscure epistles of love. I can write very like my lady your niece; on a forgotten matter we can hardly make distinction of our hands
