Storyboard Text

  • Did you know that with enough heat you can melt anything. When you add heat the particles start to move faster and a solid will turn into a liquid
  • If you heat a liquid up more the particles will stat to evaporate and turn into a gas. But if you cool it it will turn back into a solid.
  • This happens because in a solid the particles are really close together so they have no room to move, but when you add heat the particles start to move farther apart causing them to move around more and finally when you add even more heat the particles have tons of room to move so it becomes a gas.
  • But what is heat.
  • Ok. But what is the connection to heat ahd the motion of particles.
  • The connection is that if you give heat to particles they will have more energy and get further apart, but if you take heat they will have less energy and get closer together.
  • Heat is the energy that is transferred from one body to another as result in the difference in temperature.
  • There are 3 main ways to measure temperature. There is the liquid thermometer, electric thermometer and the optical thermometer. they are usually shown in celsius or fahrenheit. Looks like there's a storm coming. Bye.
  • Temperature is a measurement of how much kinetic energy is in the particles. When the temperature increases the movement of the particles also increase.
  • You keep on talking about temperature but what is it.
  • YAY! I'm back to a solid.
