  • Will Wares 3rd
  • Zig Zag Road to rights
  • What to the Slave is the Fourth of July
  • Lincolns Second Inaugural Address
  • in the Zig Zag Roads to rights the theme is civil rights change. in Zig Zag road to rights s talks about multiple events that lead to back suffrage and more eqaulity and freedom for african americans in our country. the name itself shows that. the Zig Zag Road to rights is clear evidence that the struggle for freedo has changed throughout history, because the way that aAfrican americans gained freedom is through peacful protest, and many fights for freedom before now have been violent and fought in wars much like our revolution. but this time period stood out because it was peacful.
  • Brown v. Board of Education
  • This famous speech by Fredric Douglass connects to the change in the struggle for freedom because this speech was written by a black man who was formerly a slave and who had escaped and learned to write which was unheard of at the time, and his famous speech was done on the fourht of july and wasnt done in celebration but is was complaining to the people celebrating in the country when there was still buch work to do which is different than anything else because there were not many other former slaves who could write.
  • The Social Dilemma
  • the struggle for freedom changes throughout history. the way that you gain freeedom is very simular for everything but what you are fighting for does change and in this case Abraham Lincoln had been tasked with mending the nation, and the nation had just had a civil war, in this certain case of fighting for freedom there was a civil war in our country to gain freedom for the slaves.
  • In brown vs board of education court case was a hearing before the Supreme US Court and decided that segregated education was unethical and not truely "seporate but equal." this case was simular to the rest of these changes in freedom but this one was specifiaclly about equal education for all children regardless of race.
  • the social dilemma is very different than the rest of these changes in freedom. this freedom is not about cival rights it i about freedom from technology and technology companys. this is something never seen before in history because social media is something relatively new.
