- It had been a good summer for Rose and her family until one night her parents went on a date and never came home. They were involved in a horrible car accident. This came as a shock to everyone, especially Rose. She was so upset because had no idea what her future would hold, even though she was going to move in with her grandparents.
- I know this is a shock but you will get a chance to make new friends and escape grief.
- We're sending you to a boarding school. We believe that this will help you be more like yourself.
- Since her parents death, Emily had stopped being herself. She stop going out with her friends and spent most of her free time in her room. Her Grandparents were very worried about her.
- We have many opportunities in this school that I believe you will enjoy. We have a very big theater in the school and a wonderful music program.
- Emily's family thought that once school started again and she would be more happy. Unfortunately, school didn't help. Her grades started going down, and she stopped eating lunch in the cafeteria. Her guidance counselor decided to contact her grandparents.
- One day during winter break her grandparents told Emily that they had been in contact with a boarding school in Virginia. They said that Emily had taken the test and got accepted to go. They decided to send her because they thought a change of environment would be good for her.
- Emily and her Grandparents flew to the boarding school to tour it and move her in. She was scared and not that excited about leaving her home. However, she went along with it because her grandparents wanted it.
- After a few months at the boarding school, Emily couldn't help but love it. She meet a lot of new people and made new friends. Emily became a lot happier and although she missed her parents, it wasn't everything she was thinking about. She continued to come to that boarding school every year after that.
