In 1606, about 100 English Men & Women set sail for the New World on the Mayflower boat. This occurred during the reign of King James l.
I hope so too...
I hope we make it to new land soon...
In Late December, the 100 English Men & Women had arrived at Plymouth Rock, which would later become the first permanent settlement of Europeans in New England.
This event happened during the beginning of winter
While they were developing their city, a Native man named Tisquantum, or Squanto came across the city the Pilgrims were in. who would soon become a citizen of the city.
Soon enough, Squanto became really useful. He talked with a Native tribe that had been keeping eye on the Pilgrims, the Pokanoket tribe, and managed to make peace with each other.
Right after the peace treaty was settled, the Pokanoket tribe decided to help the Pilgrims survive by providing them with resources and helping them complete the development of the Pilgrim civilization.
This event happened during the winter just an FYI
NOTE: This event happened during the winter
They wanted to celebrate surviving the winter together, so they came to an agreement to make a three-day festival where both the native tribe Pokanoket and the Pilgrims would have a feast(mainly 5 deers) and just hang out together during the festival
