- A story told by the ghost

- The ghost of King Hamlet tells Hamlet that he was killed by his brother Claudius. He poisoned him while he was asleep in the garden.

- Less than 3 months after the death of King Hamlet, Gertrude falls in love and marries his brother Claudius, who then takes over the throne and becomes king of Denmark. Hamlet jr. is angry and thinks of his mother as stupid

- Hamlet is expressing how he feels toward Claudius and does not see him as a father figure at all
- The Play
- Claudius sends two of Hamlet's childhood friends to spy on him and to see if he is troubled.
- Claudius is basically telling hamlet to get over the death of his father
- Hamlet asks a theater group to perform a play that is very relatable to the death of King Hamlet. Hamlet plans to watch Claudis' reaction to the play to confirm if he really killed his father.
