- When I found out that Anne had passed, I was distraught. I had grown so close to this family and finding out that someone I loved and cared for so much had been killed in such a melancholic way, that really upset me.
- How did you feel when you heard that Anne had died?
- Well, I had first collected her diary in hopes of returning them to her one day. When I found out about the tragic news, I knew I had to give them to someone so she could be remembered somehow. I gave them to someone else who also loved and cared for her deeply. I gave them to Anne's father. He looked for many publishers to publish the book. Many turned him down, but he kept looking. I believe he's the true reason why we know who Anne is today.
- Why did you collect Anne's Diary?
- Helping others that are in trouble is your true human duty. Even if it may cost you your life, you should always try and help. Another piece of advice I would give is to not help others to call yourself a hero. Helping someone who truly needs it doesn't make you a hero.
- What words of advice would you give people my age today?
