- The 8th night
- Who's there!?!?
- It is midnight! Time to go check on that vulture eye of a man.
- There the old man was laying on the bed. What a shame he has no idea what is about to happen.
- I finally was able to get my head in the room. When I went to open the lantern, my finger slipped. The old man had woken up from his sleep and I can ensure you that he was scared for his life.
- 4 o'clock
- "Knock, knock!"
- I could not bare the look of that pale blue eye no longer. I had to do something! The old man's hour had come! I shouted, threw open the lantern, and leaped into the room. I yanked him to the floor and smothered the heavy bed over him. The old man was dead.
- Finally, the deed has been complete! His eye would trouble me no more. I started off by dismembering the corpse. I chopped off the head, arms, and legs. Then, I took up three planks from the wood flooring of the chamber. After that, I deposited all between the small wooden beams supporting the floor. I also replaced the floor boards so cleverly that no human would be able to detect it.
