- It was the morning of I is box or the Lottery in town square with Mr. Summers and the Hutchinson's family alongside everybody else.
- Everyone in town pulled a slip of paper from the black I is box. All the slips of paper where blank except Mr. Huchinsons.
- Tessie started to throw a tantrum about how Bill didn't get enough time.
- All members of the Huchinson family put the slips of paper into I is box
- The Huchinson family takes slips of paper from I is box again. This time Tessie got the black dot.
- Everyone stats to gather around with stones in their pockets. They start throwing them at Tessie each stone hitting harder than the next eventually killing her.
