  • Parenting children with disabilities can be very difficult for parents especially when others don't truly understand all of the demands that come with it. It usually requires more work and effort than watching over a "normal child" which can have harsh effects on the parents.

  • Children with special needs often tend to need more care, which can be hard and more demanding for parents. 
  • Autism: A development disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior

  • Throughout the book Oksar goes to several different people to see what they might know about the key. We eventually find out that his mother contacted each of them before hand to tell them he was coming and to treat him kindly.

  • Every parent of a child with disabilities faces different issues which can be exhausting. Other parents may not understand as much because they don't know the physical and emotional toll it can have on someone.

  • Recognizing issues that aren't always our own, such as finding ways to make parenting children with disabilities easier would create a better environment for not only the kid, but everyone close to the family. Living a happy and stress free life benefits the community as well because people in this state are in a better mood creating a better work ethnic.
  • However, facing problems like this and finding ways to make parenting easier for others would help them be happier which overall would make the child happier. 
  • It's important for people to start recognizing parent's issues when it comes to watching over disabled children because their parenting impacts their child's life and the people around them. These issues may not always be our own but by showing we care and helping others around us live a happy and stress free life will make society better as a whole.
