  • Dream big, it will come true
  • Kennedy had always dreamed of some big-time actress ever since she was little. ¨She turned twenty-seven she would finally land a three-season arc on Pacific Cove. It would be your longest acting job ever, and even decades later she would sometimes be stopped in the mall by some gooey-eyed fan who called her Charity Harris. It was a role she was born to play¨( Bennett 265). This is something Kennedy loves and wants to pursue in her life. She wants fame and for people to recognize her when she walks into the room.
  • The play is held right through these doors
  • Kennedy was rehearsing for her upcoming play when her mother said something that really touched her heart. She says, ¨I sure hope they let you out of there soon... collapsing Kennedy and Charity like the rest of the crew. It was the most her mother had ever validated her as an actor¨ ( Bennet 267 ). Kennedy craves attention and affirmation from her mother which never really received. She tried so hard to keep her secret she fell short in other aspects of parenting. This is why Kennedy acts the way she does with her mother.
  • Kennedy and her Boyfriend Frantz went on a lunch date when she died to tell him some shocking news. Kennedy says,¨What if I told you that I'm not white?¨ She said. ¨She didn't plan to say this, it just came out. Frantz smiled, his beer raised to his lips. What are you then? he said. I´m part black too. Sheś never said this out loud before. She wondered if saying it would make her feel more real¨ ( Bennett 274). Kennedy is talking about her race, she never truly felt black because her mother always kept that part of her life from her. She felt as though talking about it would make her feel more united with her race.
  • Kennedy had been searching all over town for Jude. She spotted her before she went into the play with Reese. Kennedy stated, ¨By the door, she recognized Judes Boyfriend-his curly hair longer, beard darker, but still unmistakably him...She couldn't help it she was surprised that they were still together. She knew his type- it wasn't his type to love a girl like Jude.. a pretty boy would never fall fr a girl who was difficult and beautiful (Bennett 279 ). This shows the type of person Kennedy is, she is very stuck up and likes to belittle other people. She feels as though Jude is not worth enough to Reese
  • Kennedy, Jude, and Reese all went out for dinner after the play. Jude slipped Kennedy a picture of theirfamily in her hand. Jude dint know what the picture was of and skurred to the bathroom.¨she had barely spoken on the subway ride home. She wasn't feeling well, she told everyone after one drink, she better call it a night. In the bathroom, she slipped the photograph inside her waistband like when she was little..Part of her wanted Jude to think that she gotten rid of it. Flushed it down the toilet or something ( Bennett 289 ). THis shoes Kennedys action instead of just telling Jude, Kennedy's first idea was to flush the paper and pretend she never saw it.
  • Reese had just been released from surgery. Jude and Kennedy were waiting in the lobby waiting for Reese to get out of surgery. The narrator says, "When Jude wheeled him outside, Kennedy glanced up, startled to find the sky already..For hours she sat by Jude in the waiting room flipping idly through magazines... Reese was still a little sloppy from anesthesia.. Jude squeezed his thigh and Kennedy glanced away. She couldn't imagine needig anyone so openly (294-295). When Kennedy sees Jude being so compassionate with Reese she was unable to watch it made her feel as though she didn't have anymore and was confused about how someone like Reese could love Jude.
