The narrator says that he is not mad and he told us that he would prove it .He plans to kill the old man because of his "vulture" eye .
The narrator starts to get nervous and thinks he hears the "old mans" heart beating and begins to panic and then confesses to the police that he commited the murder of the man.
Every night the narrator creep up on the old man while he slept, waiting on the vulture eye to open. On the eigth night the old man heard a noise and he wakes up .
On the eighth night when the eye was open the narrator sees the eye and hears the ''old mans" heartbeat, leading to the narrator killing the poor old man.
The narrator chops up the body and hides it under the floor boards. The cops show up at the house ,search the house because of the complaint of on of the neighbors and afterwards stayed to chat.
